"Asin Merge" causing issues?
|
Read: 3866 Replies: 0
|
Amazon’s “Asin Merge” last week has caused many issues for many sellers. In an attempt to clean certain categories and or product groups, Amazon continually attempts to merge what they believe to be similar/same products as well as parent to child relationships.
This can cause ASINS to be changed. One moment your product “ABC” is linked to ASIN “B00xxxxxx1” and the next moment your product is linked to “B00xxxxxxxx2”, leaving the previous ASIN returning no data.
If you import directly to CEYE, please verify your ASINS are still valid.
If using CompetitorEye’s Amazon synchronization:
This is usually cleared in CompetitorEye the next time we synchronize with Amazon for your account, but only if “Inactivate items for monitoring that are not in your most recent import or synchronization. Keeps CompetitorEye in-line with your current selling products.” is selected will the old ASIN be inactivated, otherwise we will attempt to monitor both ASINS under a single SKU, and since one will obviously fail. This causes extreme diagnostic stress for everyone involved.
If you have received partial reporting in the last week, it is recommended that you first rule out Amazon’s ASIN Merge as a possible contributor.
First, review the link above, if unchecked, check.
Second, Request new inventory file(s) to be created by Amazon, this can take Amazon up to 45 minutes to create. Click the refresh/reload link on the page every few minutes until you see the new inventory files at the top of your list.
Finally, import from the newest inventory files by clicking “Immediate storefront synchronization” from Item management.
This may not completely “fix” a partial report issue you may be temporarily experiencing, considering enough ASINS have been merged recently to cause issues for some sellers, it is good account practice to evaluate your own ASINS to determine if it is causing issues with your CEYE reporting.
